Barcelona Scientific Park, phase 1&2

First phase: Consists in the construction of 13 research laboratory modules and the restoration of the History and Pedagogy faculty’s buildings.
Intermediate phase: Consists in the refurbishment of the Administration building.
Second phase: Includes the construction of 8 laboratory modules, 1 auditorium with restaurant service and 500 parking places, and the conversion of the towers B and C into new offices.

Constituted by the University of Barcelona in 1997, the PCB was the first science park in Spain and has now become an international leader in the fostering of innovation.
The Barcelona Science Park has as its goals:
To offer spaces and services to public and private organizations that conduct research of excellence
– To dynamize the relationship between university and business
– To boost the creation of new companies
– To promote dialogue between science and society and to foster scientific vocations
At present the park is home to 3 research institutes, more than 70 companies, and a wide range of research support technology. In addition, it organises activities for the promotion of scientific culture and new careers in science, in which close to 4,500 people participate each year.
The Barcelona Science Park has a constructed surface of 86,638 sq meters distributed in 43,537 sq meters for laboratory space, 14,785 m2 for office space and 19,861 sq meter of available space for other uses.
