They work there from 1966 to 1969, where they develop the Margabux method to calculate portico structures with the first computers.<\/p>\n<p>In 1968 Joan Margarit obtained the professorship at the Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona, and in 1970 did Carles Buxad\u00e9.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;timeline&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h5\">70s<\/h2>\n<p>They deal with the calculation of three-dimensional structures of large lights. In 1976 they design and calculte the Dome of Vitoria, for which they are awarded the European Metallic Structures Award on the following year, that values its sthetics, lightness and large spans.<br \/>\nThey calculate space meshes of knots and bars around the world in cooperation with the company Perfrisa, using the method of assimilating discontinuous structures to continuous structures. This method, which they hear about in a lecture in London, is beginning to be developed at the moment and they apply it.<br \/>\nThey introduce matrix calculus to the world of architecture. Until so far it was basically used by engineers, so they become pioneers in structural calculus in edification.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;timeline&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h5\">80s<\/h2>\n<p>They apply the structural knowledge acquired and developed over the last few years to works of great impact in Barcelona and the country.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Year 82: Reinforcement of the monument to Colon.<\/li>\n<li>Year 86: Remodeling of the Olympic Stadium.<\/li>\n<li>Year 85: Calculation and works direction of the structure of the Sagrada Fam\u00edlia.<\/li>\n<li>Year 86: Rehabilitation of the Museum of Science and Technology of Terrassa.<\/li>\n<li>Year 86: Structure of Pompeu Fabra University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And at the same time, massive structural reinforcement actions are beginning in industrial parks throughout Catalonia. An opportunity to learn and put into practice its structural knowledge, which will be extended to the present day.<br \/>\nThis was, as they call it, the &#8220;Prodigious decade&#8221;.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;timeline&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h5\">90s<\/h2>\n<p>The decade begins with the commissioning of the Vila Universit\u00e0ria, which involves their fist approach to the world of industrialization in architecture. From that point they jump into global architectural projects, developing them in different scales and program diversity but never ceasing to do and innovate in structures.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;timeline&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h5\">2000-2010<\/h2>\n<p>Ramon Ferrando and \u00c0gata Buxad\u00e9, who have been working in the studio for years, join as associates. At the same time, Carles Gelp\u00ed has set up his own architectural studio. Both studios often collaborate in projects in many different fields and sizes, public and private.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;timeline&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h5\">2011-Currently<\/h2>\n<p>In 2011, both studios decide to merge in the creation of the new brand: 2BMFG arquitectes.
